Reinaldo Povod

Reinaldo Povod was born and raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. He won the Oppenheimer/Newsday award for his first play, Cuba and His Teddy Bear, which was produced in 1986 on Broadway with Robert De Niro. La Puta Vida Trilogy was produced at the Public Theater in the 1987-1988 season. Super Fishbowl Sunday, co-authored with Richard Barbour, was produced in New York in 2001. Povod passed away in 1994.
